On September 27, in Almaty has started the meeting by the Eurasian Community for Access to Treatment (ECAT) on expanding access to treatment and diagnostics for HIV, viral hepatitis and tuberculosis. The event was organized by the International Coalition in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ITPC EECA) with the support of the Right to Health Coalition (HAC).
The meeting is attended by NGO and civil society representatives from the following countries of the EECA region: Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
Participants will meet with pharmaceutical companies ViiV Healthcare and Viatris (Mylan), as well as diagnostic test manufacturers Cepheid and Molbio to discuss drug registration, pricing policy for drugs and tests, and market entry of innovative drugs in the EECA region. The event also includes a training session on diagnostic tools by a representative of Médecins Sans Frontières and a session on a new treatment for chronic hepatitis Delta by Pavel Haykin.
The meeting is sponsored by ITPC Global, and co-funded by 100% Life Foundation and Alliance for Public Health as part of the SOS_2.0 project.
